Aureo y Calicó sale 448, lot 200

This specimen was lot 200 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 2,000 € (about US$2,613 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "(1640-1652). Reaper's war. Barcelona. 1 trentí. Obv.: +:FERNANDVS·ET·ELISABET·REGES:. Rev.: SVBVMBRA·A·-LARVM TVA 1626. Countermark arms of Barcelona on the B of a trenti from 1626. Weak strike. Rare. MBC- [about very fine]." This coin was originally struck 1622, 1626 and 1629 with a "B" mintmark between the royal busts (KM 17.1). At some point during the Reaper's War, the arms of Barcelona were stamped over the mintmark (KM 19). Others have an "S" stamped there (KM 18).
