This specimen was lot 1627 in Jean Elsen sale 136 (Brussels, March 2018), where it sold for €870 (about US$1,277 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"INDIA, BAHAWALPUR, Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V (AD 1907-1947/AH 1325-1365) AV ashrafi, AH 1343 (1924-1925). Some marks. about Extremely Fine."
The state of Bahawalpur lies in the southwest part of Punjab, in the Thar desert. Altho the nawab voluntarily entered the state of Pakistan in 1947-48, his state was abolished in 1955. This gold type, tho shown a Y number, is not depicted in the current edition of the SCWC.
