This specimen was lot 2520 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $66. The catalog description[1] noted, "BAHAWALPUR: Sadiq Muhammad Khan V, 1907-1947, AE 1/4 anna, Bahawalpur, AH1350 (1940), NGC graded MS64 RB." The state of Bahawalpur lies in the southwest part of Punjab, in the Thar desert. Altho the auctioneers mention AH 1350 as the date of issue, it is dated AH 1359 on the reverse. It was accompanied by a half pice (KM Y12). The nawab was the first princely ruler to accede to the state of Pakistan, in October 1947; his state was formally abolished in 1955 and he died in 1966.
