This specimen was lot 1673 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it sold for $372. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bahamas. 50 Dollars, 1973. Independence. Reverse: Two flamingos. Brilliant Proof." Numerous varieties (with and without fineness, with and without serial number) were manufactured to create artificial rarities.
Recorded mintage: 23,000 + 18,000 proofs.
Specification: 15.64 g, 0.500 fine gold, 29.2 mm diameter, 0.2515 ounce AGW.
