This specimen was lot 1720 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "BAHAMAS, Élisabeth II (1952-2022), AV 50 dollars, 1972. Santa Maria. Proof.)" This NCLT celebrates Colombus's flagship, the Santa Maria. The appearance depicted is strictly conjectural as no contemporary documentation exists of the ship.

Recorded mintage: 2,250 plus 1,250 proofs.
