This specimen was lot 22592 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Baden. 1/2 Gulden, 1864. NGC MS-65. Highly attractive gem with a bold strike, full satiny luster, and gentle russet to aqua peripheral toning." This type was struck 1860-65 and is common. It accompanied a gulden, thaler and double gulden.
