This specimen was lot 4323 in Goldberg sale 74 (Los Angeles, June 2013), where it sold for $1,064 including buyer's fees. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Baden. Taler, 1833. With star. Leopold I. NGC graded MS-63. The George C. Follis Collection." Davenport lists this type for 1830-37; the SCWC divides this issue into two subtypes with a slight modification of the bust in 1832. The type is scarce.
