This specimen was lot 42016 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 5 Kreuzer, 1867-A. Vienna Mint. Franz Joseph. PCGS MS-64. A RARE one-year type that becomes exceptionally difficult in any Mint State grade, let alone the present condition. Standing as the sole finest certified by PCGS, with one higher at NGC, this piece offers wonderfully wholesome surfaces that are for all appearances Gem, save for some tiny marks to the right of Franz Joseph's nose."

Recorded mintage: 69,000.
