Sincona sale 97, lot 2046

This specimen was lot 2046 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$218 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Ferdinand I. 1835-1848. Taler 1846 A, Wien. Vorzüglich. Gereinigt. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, thaler of 1846, Vienna mint. Extremely Fine, Cleaned.)"

This type was struck 1837-48 at Vienna (shown here) and Milan. This is a common date. Thalers were struck to this weight standard until 1852.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 28.05 g.
