Austria 1835-A thaler Dav-11
This specimen was lot 1272 in Jean Elsen sale 165 (Brussels, June 2026), where it sold for €300 (about US$413 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUTRICHE, François Ier (1806-1835), AR Taler, 1835 A, Vienne. D/ B. l. à d., les cheveux courts. R/ Aigle impériale éployée et couronnée. Très Beau à Superbe. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1806-35, silver thaler of 1835, Vienna mint. Obverse: laureate head right with short hair; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"
This thaler was struck 1831-35 at Vienna (A), Kremnitz (B) and Karlsburg (E). The 1835-A is the most common date.
