Austria 1784-A 20 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 4100 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Joseph II. 1765-1790 20 Kreuzer 1784 A. Wien. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph II, 1765-90, twenty kreuzer of 1784, Vienna mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
Twenty kreuzer were minted 1754-97 for Francis I, Maria Theresia, Joseph II, Leopold II and Francis II from all the imperial mints in a bewildering array of varieties. This one, struck for Joseph II as sole ruler, is known for 1781-90 from Vienna (shown here), Karlsburg ("E"), Prague ("C"), Nagybanya ("G") and Hall ("F"). This date is common.
