Sincona sale 51, lot 2894

This specimen was lot 2894 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Dukat 1766, Wien. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (archduchy of Austria, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1766, Vienna mint. Rare, Good very fine.)"

This type was struck for Maria Theresia 1765-80. She is shown with a widow's veil after the death of her husband Francis of Lorraine.
