Austria 1732 thaler Dav-1041
This specimen was lot 4618 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,706 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Karl VI. 1711-1740. Reichstaler 1732, Graz. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, thaler of 1732, Graz mint. Handsome patina, extremely fine.)"
Austrian thalers for 1732 include KM 1579.2/Dav-1037, KM 1610.2/Dav-1041 (shown here) and KM 1617/Dav-1054. This type from Graz is transitional between Dav-1040 and Dav-1042. Each varies in the arrangement of the drapery and armor on the obverse.
