This specimen was lot 1493 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,938 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Erzherzog Ferdinand Karl, 1632-1662. Reichstaler 1654, Hall. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Holy Roman Empire, archdule Ferdinand Charles, 1632-62, thaler of 1654, Hall mint. Proof example, handsome patina, choice uncirculated.)"
This type is listed for 1657 only yet is not rare. A very similar half thaler and quarter thaler exist.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
