Sincona Auction 103, lot 805

This specimen was lot 805 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$381 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Ferdinand I. 1521-1564. Pfundner 1527, Wien. Münzmeister Thomas Beheim. Gutes sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 51, Zürich, Oktober 2018, Los 3698. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1521-64, pfundner of 1527, Vienna mint. Good Very Fine)"

The pfunder was 12 kreuzer or one-fifth of an early thaler. This type was struck 1527, 1530, 1532 and 1535-36. Other pfundners were struck at Klagenfurt and Hall.
