Australia 1936 half penny

Heritage sale 3076, part of lot 33313

This specimen was part of lot 33313 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), which sold for $216. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Australia: 13-Piece Lot of Certified Assorted Minors NGC, 1) George V 1/2 Penny 1936 - UNC Details (Surface Hairlines)...." The type was issued 1911-36 with Melbourne being the sole producer after 1926. This date is common up thru extremely fine but the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,562,000 + proofs.

Specification: 5.6 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter.
