This specimen was lot 46 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,854 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUGSBURG, STADT, 1/2 Reichstaler 1643, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Äußerst selten in dieser Erhaltung. Kabinettstück. Prachtvolle Patina, Stempelglanz (Germany, city of Augsburg, half thaler of 1643, struck in the name of Ferdinand III. Very rare in this quality, cabinet piece, superb patina, uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1640, 1641 and 1643; this is the most common of the three dates.
