This specimen was lot 24764 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "Augsburg. Free City Taler 1626, MS64 NGC. With title of Ferdinand II Holy Roman Emperor. A German Taler from the 17th century of this quality should not even exist. A Prooflike first strike example with totaly unblemished fields. For the finest of collections." This type was struck the one year only and is a fairly common issue for this locale.
