Künker Auction 425, lot 2027

This specimen was lot 2027 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,682 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · ANHALT-BERNBURG, FÜRSTENTUM Victor Friedrich, 1721-1765. Reichstaler 1747, Münzstätte vermutlich Harzgerode. Ausbeute der Grube Glücksstern. Von großer Seltenheit. Etwas bearbeitet, sehr schön. (Germany, principality of Anhalt-Bernburg, Victor Frederick, 1721-65, thaler of 1747, perhaps Harzgerode mint, for the Lucky Star mine. Extremely rare, tooled, very fine.)"

Anhalt-Bernburg, one of the splinters of Anhalt, issued a considerable amount of minor coinage in the eighteenth century but thalers are rare. This one promoted the Lucky Star mine.
