This specimen was lot 4095 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,505 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm IV. 1840-1861. Friedrichs d'or 1848, A. GOLD. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 357, Frankfurt/Main 1998, Nr. 2711. Bei dem vorliegenden Münztyp wurde ab 1845 die Jahreszahl vergrößert. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William IV, 1840-61, frederick d'or of 1848. Very fine to extremely fine. The date was enlarged in 1845.)"
