This specimen was lot 23571 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. Ayrshire. 1/2 Penny Token, 1797. PCGS MS-65 BN Secure Holder. Obverse features armored bust left of William Fullarton (1754-1808) MP, later Governor of Trinidad in 1802, 'GULIELMUS VALLAS' around; Reverse: female seated, left arm resting upon a shield, 'SCOTIA REDIVIVA' around, 17 TC 97 in exergue, plain edge. A handsome chocolate brown Gem with hints of mint luster in the protected areas."
