This specimen was lot 75312 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Warwickshire. Kempson's. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1797. PCGS MS-64 Brown. Obverse: "WHITE FRIARS GATE" View of gate; Reverse: "THE ARMS OF COVENTRY" Arms center, 1797 below. Subtly mottled chocolate brown surfaces and a delightfully fresh strike in near-Gem preservation." Thousands of varieties exist and Conder tokens are their own collecting specialty.
