Künker Auction 426-3576

This specimen was lot 3576 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,150 (about US$1,629 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Rudolf August und Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704. Reichstaler 1693, Zellerfeld. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Rudolf August and Anthony Ulrich, 1685-1704, thaler of 1693, Zellerfeld mint. Handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1691-99 and is somewhat scarce. Another thaler of the year, Dav-6393, featured two wild men, presumably one for each brother.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 29 g, 0.875 fine silver, 42 mm diameter, this specimen 29,07 g.

Catalog reference: KM 593, Dav-6389; Welter 2071.
