Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1693-RB thaler Dav-6389
This specimen was lot 3576 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,150 (about US$1,629 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Rudolf August und Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704. Reichstaler 1693, Zellerfeld. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Rudolf August and Anthony Ulrich, 1685-1704, thaler of 1693, Zellerfeld mint. Handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1691-99 and is somewhat scarce. Another thaler of the year, Dav-6393, featured two wild men, presumably one for each brother.
