This specimen was lot 278 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it sold for €70 (about US$99 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ZWOLLE. 28 Stuiver of florijn, z.j., Silver Type Ia. Gekroonde dubbele adelaar, waarde als 28 in het hart MATTH. I. D. G. RO. IMP. SEM. AVGV. Kz. gekroond gecombineerd wapen. Met binnencirkels op voor- en keerzijde. Zeer fraai +. (city of Zwolle, undated florin of 28 stuivers, type Ia. Obverse: crowned double-headed eagle with value on its breast; reverse: crowned arms, with inner circles on obverse and reverse. Choice very fine.)"

This type was struck 1619-21, 1626-28 and undated. Numista attributes the undated examples to the period 1650-65. The municipal mints' habit of coining to short weight and short alloy infuriated the Estates General, which spent most of the seventeenth century on a campaign to close them all.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 20.16 g, 0.673 fine silver, 39 mm diameter, this specimen 18.99 g.

Catalog reference: KM 17, Delm. 1114. V. 174.1; vdW. 193; de B. 40.
