This louis d'or à la mèche longue, struck at the Paris mint 1646-59, is among the more available louis of Louis XIV of France. It is still an expensive coin.

Recorded mintage: 993,063 (commonest date).

Specification: 6.75 g, 0.917 fine gold, plain edge, designed by Jean Warin.
