Zurich 1649 1/4 ducat Fr-466
This specimen was lot 3434 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$399 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Vierteldukat 1649, Zürich. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Schrötlingsriss. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, quarter ducat of 1649, Zürich mint. Rare, Very Fine-Extremely Fine, Flan crack.)"
The SCWC lists this type for 1641, 1645, 1649, 1651 and 1670-71. While many Zürich quarter ducats are quite affordable, this one is scarce, although this example did not realize the catalog value.
