Künker sale 406, lot 3647

This specimen was lot 3647 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €600 (about US$787 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ, ZÜRICH, Stadt. 1/4 Dukat 1654. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62 (3067217-005). GOLD. Prachtexemplar mit feiner Goldtönung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, quarter ducat of 1654. Graded NGC MS-62, cabinet example with fine gold toning, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was issued 1654 and 1662 only and is somewhat scarcer than the later Fr-468.

Specification: 0.875 g, 0.986 fine gold.
