Sincona sale 64, lot 1821

This specimen was lot 1821 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$176 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Alexander II. 1855-1881, 1/2 Kopeck 1871, Ekaterinburg Mint, EM. 1 rouble according to Ilyin. Good very fine." This type was struck 1867-81 at Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. Mintages are generally decent but the SCWC does not note the existence of any proofs. The half kopek or denga was the second lowest denomination Russian coin. The 4 g weight given by the SCWC is much too high.
