Belgium 1904 frank
This specimen was lot 1284 in Jean Elsen sale 150 (Brussels, March 2022), where it sold for €110 (about US$146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
" BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold II (1865-1909), AR 1 frank, 1904NL. Refrappe de 1947 sur flan poli. Tranche avec cannelures plus fines. Très rare Vernie. Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold II, 1865-1909, silver franc of 1904, Dutch legends, proof restrike of 1947, with finely reeded edge. Very rare, Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1904 and 1909 with French and Flemish legends. This is a later restrike.
