This type was struck 1902-03 with French legends (KM 48, "centimes") and Flemish legends (KM 49, "centiemen", shown here). None of the dates are rare. The two languages were used to appease regionalist sentiment. A large date variety (KM 53) also exists for 1903 and is slightly scarcer.

Recorded mintage: 5,658,000 in Flemish including 1903/2 and KM 53 (large date).

Specification: 2.5 g, copper-nickel, 19 mm diameter.
