Canada 1937 cent

Heritage sale 3038, part of lot 33820

This type was struck 1937-47 and varies from the later George VI cent by retaining the "IND IMP" in the obverse legend. This date is common. The maple leaf reverse was used until cents were discontinued in 2014. This specimen was part of lot 33820 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), which sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "George VI Six Piece Specimen Set 1937, KM-SS35. This is the scarcer set with mirror-like fields consisting of Cent to Dollar. Housed in its original case from the Canadian mint in Ottawa. Reported mintage of 75 Specimen Sets."
