Steve Album sale 30, lot 1414

This specimen was lot 1414 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN: Kristina, 1632-1654, AE öre, Säter, 1639, some green verdigris spots removed, VF, ex Hans Mondorf Collection. Sweden's first copper mint was built in Säter in 1624, influenced by its proximity to the copper mine at Falun." This type was struck 1638-41 at Säter and then Avesta after 1644. Stockholm struck this denomination in billon. Earlier öre of 1625-31 were either billon or 28.3 g copper. Half, quarter and one-sixth öre also exist but are seldom seen.
