Heritage sale 3010, part of lot 23262

In 1907, Norway obtained a divorce from Sweden and became an independent kingdom under a Danish prince. Even before passing under Swedish rule in 1814, Norway had enjoyed a separate coinage from Denmark. This specimen was part of lot 23262 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $503.70. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mixed Scandinavian 14 Coin Lot, Norway...25 Ore 1876.... Grades are Fine-XF. A lot that needs careful study." This one year type is actually more common than the subsequent type (KM 360) issued 1896-1904.

Recorded mintage: 3,200,000.

Specification: 2.4 g, 0.600 fine silver, .046 troy oz ASW.
