Saxony 1872-E 20 mark

This specimen was lot 1146 in Sincona sale 90 (Zurich, May 2024), where it sold for 475 CHF (about US$628 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Königreich, Johann, 1854-1873. 20 Mark 1872 E, Dresden. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Saxony, John, 1854-73, twenty mark of 1872, Dresden mint. Very fine-extremely fine.)"
This twenty mark, struck to the standard of the unifeid empire, is a one year type, the king dying the next year.
Recorded mintage: 1,084,927 plus proofs.
