This is a half louis d'or aux lunettes minted at Paris (mintmark "A") during the reign of Louis XV of France. The type was struck 1726-39. Like all half louis, it is rare but this issue is probably the most available of all demi-louis d'or.

Recorded mintage: 53,600[1](commonest date).

Specification: 4.08 g, 0.917 fine gold, reeded edge, designed by J.-C. Röettiers.
