This specimen was lot 2334 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Halfpenny, 1860. Victoria. Beaded border. Obverse: Wyon's young 'bun head' portrait of queen. Reverse: Britannia. Uncirculated with much mint red. NGC graded MS-65 Red & Brown." This type was struck 1860-94, with many varieties for 1860-61. It superseded the larger copper half penny heretofore issued, a few of which are known for 1860. The beaded border shown here is the most common variety.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 5.7 g, copper.
