Chile 1834 2 reales rev DSLR.jpg

The specimen shown is one of a type minted in Santiago, Chile, 1834 only. The design, with a erupting volcano, is also found on ½ real, one real and one peso coins of the period. This design is very popular with collectors and brings quite a bit more than the rather low catalog values.

Recorded mintage: 3,740.

Specification: 6.4 g, 0.903 silver, .092 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 92.
