India 1923(b) anna
This specimen was lot 73738 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Anna, 1923-(B). Bombay Mint. George V. NGC MS-63. A pleasing example, with nice luster and fully formed details." This one anna was struck at the Bombay mint as part of a type struck 1912-30, 1933-36. The denomination was introduced in 1906 and struck until the end of the Raj in 1947.
Recorded mintage: 7,125,000, a better date.
