This specimen was lot 1033 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. Half Sovereign, 1900-P. Victoria. Veiled head left. Reverse: St. George and dragon. Rare in high grade. Pop 4; 8 in 62; 1 in 63. PCGS graded AU-58. Ex St. James's Au[c]tion 4, May 8, 2006, lot 569. The Peh Collection Part II." This type was struck at Sydney (shown here), Perth and Melbourne 1893-1901 in moderate numbers. It is not rare tho mintages are about one-tenth the accompanying sovereign. Some dates were issued only in proof and are rare.
