Australia 1900-S 1/2 sovereign
This specimen was lot 6308 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €190 (about US$249 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUSTRALIEN, Victoria, 1837-1901. 1/2 Sovereign 1900, S, Sydney. Old head. 3,66 g Feingold. GOLD. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Australia, Victoria, 1837-1901, half sovereign of 1900, Sydney mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck at Sydney (shown here), Perth and Melbourne 1893-1901 in moderate numbers. It is not rare tho mintages are about one-tenth the accompanying sovereign. Some dates were issued only in proof and are rare.
