Sincona sale 77, lot 4296

This specimen was lot 4296 in Sincona sale 77 (Zurich, May 2022), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$304 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Glarus, 3 Schillinge 1809, Glarus. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Glarus, three schilling of 1809. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1809-10 and 1814 and is scarce. The last issue from this canton was a shooting festival forty batzen issued in 1847. Three schilling was nine rappen; one hundred rappen made a frank.
