Sincona sale 18, lot 3203

This specimen was lot 3203 in Sincona sale 18 (Zurich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 140 (about US$184 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"20 Kopeken 1840. St. Petersburg. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Russia, twenty kopeks of 1840, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type, listed for 1832-58, is more common than the preceding (KM C158).

Recorded mintage: 2,075,000.

Specification: 4.14 g, .868 fine silver, this specimen 4.34 g.
