Goldberg sale 87, lot 3451

This specimen was lot 3451 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $146.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Bern. Batzen, 1826. Bear in frame. Nice original example. NGC graded MS-63." The canton of Bern issued two different 2½ batzen in 1826; KM 195.2 (shown here) and KM 195.1, with the denomination spelled "BATZ." The KM 195.2 has a slight premium.
