Mexico 1892-Mo AM 8 reales

This specimen was lot 25327 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $862.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic 8 Reales 1892Mo-AM, MS64 PL NGC, highly flashy surfaces with full white mint luster, very attractive." We hasten to assure collectors contemplating this series that this date from the Mexico City mint normally sells for a fraction of the price realized above. The Mexico City mint issued this type 1824-97 and most dates are readily available.
