This specimen was lot 33667 in Heritage sale 3098 (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $9,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Heinrich Julius 2 Taler 1605-(o) AU53 PCGS, Zellerfeld mint. A seldom-offered type, presenting argent surfaces and well struck devices. A similar example was sold by Kunker in June 2018 (Lot 2043) for 11,000 Euros." This one year type is a rare example of the wild man on a double thaler.
