This specimen was lot 73717 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1918-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. PCGS MS-64. Blazing with mint luster, this near-Gem stunner is about as good as you would get from the assigned grade. Just a few small contacts keep this from full Gem status."
Recorded mintage: 7,125,000, a better date.
Specification: 3.80 g, copper-nickel, 21 mm diameter.
