This specimen was lot 75402 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. Duit, 1753. NGC MS-65. A bright white offering with extraordinary mint brilliance. Not a rare type in lower grades but very SCARCE this choice." This type, intended to be a copper coin, was struck in silver 1702, 1710, 1717, 1739-63 and in gold 1702, 1717-23, 1739-52 and 1759. The gold strikes were struck to the module of a double ducat. Altho copper duits were struck until 1780, none were made in 1753.
