This specimen was lot 31212 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $4,935. The catalog description[1] noted, "Milan. Filippo Maria Visconti (1412-47) gold Fiorino (Ducato) ND MS64 NGC, Milan mint. + FILIPVS M | ARIA • A | N | GLVS, armored knight on horseback galloping right, brandishing sword / o + o DVX | o MED | IOLA | NI o 3CS o, arms surmounted by a crowned and dragon-crested helmet, crowned FI - MA to either side. A superb original example, lustrous and sharply struck on a typically smallish flan. The surfaces have naturally developed an appealing, light patina and the fields bear few notable marks or abrasions. Rarely seen thus."
