This specimen was lot 31872 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy. Milan. Galeazzo II Visconti gold Florin ND (1354-1378) MS64 NGC. + GALE AZ VICE CO M ES :, Duke on horseback charging right, wielding sword / • + • DOMINVS • M EDIOLANI • 3C', crested dragon helm between G and 3 within tressured frame. A lightly toned and well struck example with residual mint luster still evident in the fields. From the Allen Moretti Swiss Collection." The Visconti ruled Milan 1324-1447 and their badge of a snake swallowing a child is still the emblem of the city.
